The Whitlock Group is proud to be one of the largest audio/video integrators in the
United States. We have been privileged to receive awards, honors and recognition
for our growth, technical capacity and outstanding achievements in audiovisual
and broadcast systems integration. Below please find a listing of the technical
certifications and quality awards we have received, as well as a listing of the
industry associations to which we belong:
- The Whitlock Group has been ranked by Systems Contractor News magazine as one of the Top 3 Largest Audiovisual Systems Integration firms in the United States. (source: Systems Contractor News magazine, Systems Contractor News' (SCN) 2007 listing of North America's Top 50 Systems Integrators.) Recognized as one of the leading publications that serves the audiovisual industry, SCN publishes the annual Top 50 listing as a means of measuring the leading companies in the systems integration business. According to SCN, the ranking of systems integrators was accomplished by sorting each company's estimated revenue from audiovisual installations from 2007 as well as 2006 actual revenue.
- Kévin Thompson, The Whitlock Group’s Director of Technology and Strategic Markets, served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Broadcasters. Mr. Thompson also previously served on the Board of Governors of InfoComm International®, the premier association for the audiovisual and information communications industries worldwide.
- The Whitlock Group has received innumerable awards from manufacturers for being an "Outstanding Dealer" from companies like Sony, Crestron, Extron, Tandberg, Panasonic, Polycom, SMART Technologies and many others. In fact, Kévin Thompson was the first representative from a distributor company to ever speak at the Sony Corporation's National Sales Meeting. Mr. Thompson was asked to speak because he is recognized in the industry as having indispensable knowledge of audiovisual systems and a keen sense of industry trends.
- The Whitlock Group was recognized as the “2007 Polycom A/V Integrator of the Year”. Polycom stated, “This award recognizes superior sales results, naturally, but is not a measure of “who sold the most.” We also recognize The Whitlock Group as providing top level integration with the best of breed ancillary products and systems that allow our mutual customers to get the best possible performance and value from their investment in Polycom conferencing solutions. Among our many very capable partners, The Whitlock Group does indeed stand out with consistently superior performance and top marks in customer satisfaction.”
- The Whitlock Group was recognized by TANDBERG in May of 2006 for "Best in Class Performance". The Whitlock Group received a regional "Award of Excellence" based on what TANDBERG stated as "[This partner's] willingness and desire to fund joint demand creation events, account map with sales personnel, and make significant investments in infrastructure and demonstration gear has enabled this organization to make Visual communication part of their business fabric. TANDBERG would like to thank and acknowledge The Whitlock Group for their dedication and partnership. - The Whitlock Group was awarded "Dealer of Distinction" by SMART Technologies. This is SMART's top award for its North American dealers. The award is based on sales volumes, dedication to customer service and support, and an overall commitment to excellence.
- Professional organizations The Whitlock Group is a member of include: InfoComm International®, the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA), the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). The Whitlock Group is also a Certified Continuing Education Provider of Audiovisual Technologies for the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
- The Whitlock Group has been recognized for many local and regional awards recognizing outstanding growth and achievement in the business community, including the "Rising 25", "Virginia Chamber of Commerce's Fantastic 50", and "Deloitte & Touche's Virginia Technology Fast 50". (Please note: these awards were distributed in Virginia because The Whitlock Group is headquartered in Richmond, VA, and these awards are given in the jurisdiction based on Company headquarters).
- The Whitlock Group has been recognized four times as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine, which annually releases its "Inc. 500", a ranking of the nation's top entrepreneurial growth companies.
- The Whitlock Group received a Laureate Award from the Computerworld Smithsonian Program for the "pioneering use of technology" in a Network Operations Center project we completed for MCI. The Computerworld Smithsonian Program (CWSP) was established in 1989 to document the progress of information technology in the public and private sectors. According to the U.S. General Services Administration's Web Site, the Computerworld Smithsonian Program is considered to be the most prestigious awards program in the information technology industry.

- The Whitlock Group received "Honorable Mention" by Presentations magazine for an Executive Briefing Center completed at Nortel Networks.
- The Whitlock Group received recognition in Presenting Communications magazine for "bridging a technology gap" for a technical training center completed at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce.
- The Whitlock Group received recognition in Sound & Video Contractor magazine for "Using Videowalls as the Backbone of a Network Operations Center" for finance company Americredit in Fort Worth, Texas.
- The Whitlock Group received recognition in Systems Contractor magazine for "Freeing Info's Flow" by integrating audiovisual technologies into a free-flowing newsroom environment at Bloomberg in Washington, D.C.
- The Whitlock Group received recognition in ProAV magazine for "future-proofing communications" by installing an audiovisual system that employed fiber optics to link multiple conference rooms at the NFL Player's Association in Washington, D.C.
- The Whitlock Group received recognition in ProAV magazine for being the integrator who provided the "flexible AV [to] help Law School Expand" to outfit a multipurpose room with a flexible AV system to enable it to function as a working courtroom and private classroom at the Stetson University's college of Law in Tampa, FL.
- The Whitlock Group received recognition in Sound & Communications magazine for completing a massive audio installation at the new Bobcats 18, 500-seat sports arena in Charlotte, NC.
- The Whitlock Group received recognition in Systems Contractor magazine for designing and implementing an immersive audiovisual atmosphere for a newly constructed restaurant, the EndZone, located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
- The Whitlock Group received recognition in Sound & Communications magazine for completing multiple audiovisual installations for the Southwest Airlines corporate headquarters in Dallas, TX.
