Whitlock, a video collaboration company, today announced it has created a new role at the executive level for regional vice president, and has promoted two former regional directors. John Bagnell will now be the company’s Regional Vice President, West, and Ewan Smith takes on the same position for the East.
John Bagnell has been with Whitlock for three years and has led its successful Chicago office, serving customers in Illinois and across the Midwest. This position included overseeing sales, operations and service for new business engagements, as well as managing delivery teams supporting enterprise customers based in other cities with local operations. Under his leadership, Whitlock’s Chicago branch has grown by more than 300% since 2012, in both revenues and number of employees.
“John is an embedded and impactful leader,” says John (“Jack”) Steinhauer, Whitlock’s Executive Vice President. “He has not only driven increases in sales and customer engagement, he has developed a winning culture and rapport across the staff that’s tough to match. He was ready to take on a larger challenge.”
Ewan Smith has earned accolades for his impressive sales leadership as well as innovation for driving new business practices across his team and inspiring great performance from the technical staff to the account executives.
“Ewan took a successful market in Richmond, and accelerated the pace of our growth all across central VA. He also opened our northern Virginia presence in Ashburn and expanded Whitlock’s footprint deeper into Maryland,” explains Steinhauer. “He’s overseen a minimum of 10% annual growth in each market with an impressive list of happy customers.”
Ewan and John will share the same responsibilities for the eastern and western parts of the U.S. and will be closely aligned in their efforts, both reporting to Jack Steinhauer, who oversees Whitlock’s sales globally. Each will be responsible for the sales growth, customer satisfaction and profitability for their assigned regions, as well as oversight of more than 400 employees. All current Regional Directors will now report to Ewan and John based on their respective locations.
“I’m very excited by this opportunity,” says John Bagnell. “We are well positioned for growth in the Midwest and throughout the western U.S., and I look forward to bringing more structure and oversight to the region. My goal is to ensure we maintain a healthy increase in revenues as well as positive relationships with customers.”
“This change is happening at a perfect time when we are greatly expanding relationships with some amazing Fortune 100 companies nationally,” states Ewan Smith. “We’re excited to bring a standard level of service, communication and mutual success to our customers and employees.”
