Challenge:

Alcon Labs is an international pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and distributes hundreds of eye care products in more than 180 countries. This global corporation needed to address complex audiovisual technology additions and upgrades for various locations across the U.S. The company was looking for an AV solutions provider partner that could 1. handle large-scale projects across technology platforms, 2. provide assistance with each phase of the technology implementation lifecycle, and 3. offer a large enough footprint and employee bandwidth to properly support and manage these mission-critical applications impacting thousands of end users worldwide.

Solution:

Whitlock was chosen to design, engineer, integrate and support audiovisual systems for all Alcon locations across the U.S. The overall program involved delivering technologies for over eighty conference rooms, a 350-seat auditorium, multiple experimentation facilities, training rooms, multipurpose rooms and a cardio gym. Whitlock met the requirements efficiently, helping Alcon maintain its standards of efficiency, collaboration and delivery throughout the implementation. The partnership between Whitlock and Alcon Labs is ongoing and includes asset management, staffing, service and support for all AV and digital media technologies.

Of special interest, Whitlock installed audiovisual systems in the Alcon “Wet Labs” experimentation facilities, which contain cameras built into the microscopes that can showcase imagery on the plasmas throughout the rooms. The content can also be recorded and/or distributed to outside training rooms.
