Challenge:
Schlumberger is a leading oil field services company supplying technology, project management and information solutions that optimize performance for customers working in the international oil and gas industry. Schlumberger approached Whitlock to help design, integrate and maintain advanced audiovisual systems for a new Technology Breakthrough Performance Center. Goals were to improve visualization, collaboration, communication and their overall lab environment.
Solution:
As part of the Technology Performance Breakthrough Performance Center, Whitlock designed and integrated two new state-of-the-art Visualization Centers, or iCenters, for Schlumberger, which enabled them to expand research and development of global geological data. Whitlock also implemented two Collaboration Rooms, a Computer Lab and a Digital Sponsor Wall, all of which enhanced internal and external communications and data analysis and sharing of critical information. All rooms are networked, collaborative visualization environments that integrate people, data and ideas in a secure setting to make real-time decisions at all stages of operations: drilling optimization, reservoir evaluation, well planning, interpretation and field development. Whitlock’s solid performance has lead to working with many other internal and external advanced audiovisual projects, both nationally and internationally. The company continues to provide ongoing service and support to Schlumberger through a Priority Maintenance Agreement, which includes guaranteed response times and preventive maintenance agreements.
