Videoconferencing and Display Systems for Classrooms

The University of Richmond selected The Whitlock Group as its key engineering and installation partner for videoconferencing and presentation equipment required in The E. Claiborne Robins School of Business, a newly built facility. The E. Claiborne Robins School of Business provides business and economics education that meets the highest national standards at the undergraduate level and addresses local needs at the graduate level.
The project included a customized videoconferencing solution comprised of a single codec feeds for multiple classrooms, remote control systems for all A/V resources and classroom related camera/microphone placement. Custom-built professor workstations were designed to include multiple VCRs, room control systems, PC monitors and more. Preview monitors for help in monitoring remote classrooms were also installed. The Whitlock Group provided consulting, design, engineering, facilities planning, project management, professional installation and training for all equipment utilized in this facility build.
The University of Richmond utilized equipment from a variety of manufacturers: SONY (display and professional cameras), Extron Electronics, Crestron Remote Control Systems, Audio Technica, V-Tel and Elmo Visual Presenters.

The University of Richmond is a private university located in Richmond, Virginia, enrolling 3,500 full-time students in the Schools of Arts & Sciences, Business, Continuing Studies, Law and Leadership. The Whitlock Group assisted the University in its efforts to equip eight lecture halls with state of the art technology projection and presentation equipment. This is one of the eight halls. We were responsible for the consultation, design and professional installation of projectors that are writing tablet enabled, the first installation of this technology in the United States. The customer utilized equipment from a variety of manufacturers, including: Chisholm and Crestron Remote Control Systems.
