The Whitlock Group broadcast & presentation solutions was contracted to provide state-of-the-art multimedia audio, video and videoconferencing display technologies in the main command briefing room for United States General Tommy Franks, the U.S. Central Command staff and coalition forces.
The Main Conference Room is used by top-level military personnel to conduct U.S. security meetings, briefings, command staff conferences and other training seminars. Broadcast cameras are used to conduct videoconferencing meetings with remote locations as well as to record sessions for archival and future replay. All communication to and from the room via the videoconferencing system is encrypted to ensure the room is a completely secure environment.
Equipment used in the project included (2) Draper rear projection screens, (2) Christie X4 projectors, a Crestron E-control system utilizing multiple Isys control panels, a Picturetel videoconferencing system, Hitachi broadcast cameras, Extron Switchers/scalers/scan converters, JBL audio reinforcement, Shure microphones, Sony broadcast monitors, source devices (vcr/dvd, etc.) and production equipment.
